  • Kerala Budget Highlights

    The budget seeks to amend Single Window Clearance Act - 1999 and proposes to constitute a special committee chaired by Chief Secretary to monitor industrial activities. The budget allocated Rs.128 crore for Small scale industries (SSI) including Rs. 25 crore to improve infrastructure facilities in existing developmental plots. It has earmarked Rs. 23 crore for construction of multi-storeyed industrial estates, Rs. 56 crore for capital support to new SSI entrepreneurs. A new international hub will be established to extend support to industrial enterprises in Ernakulum and Thrissur. KIIFB will invest Rs. 100 crore for modernization of selected markets in Kerala.

    For the traditional sector industry, the budget has set aside Rs 72 crore for handloom sector, Rs 17 crore for Khadi and Village industries and Rs 78.5 crore for cashew sector including Rs 30 crore to procure raw cashew nuts, Rs 42 crore for modernisation of factories and Rs 6.5 crore for cashew cultivation.
