  • Hazelnut crop estimate below average but not a disaster

    The latest estimate for Turkey’s 2016 hazelnut crop was at the lower end of market expectations but remained higher than the gloomy estimates made by farmers’ unions, a UK trader observed today.Earlier this week, the Turkish exporters union estimated the 2016 crop at 603,800 in-shell tonnes.The trader noted that a crop of this range is below average, but certainly not a disaster.
