As part of the practical implementation of this partnership, the Vietnamese group TNT has validated today, a first contract of 50,000 tons of cashew nuts to be delivered in Vietnam in the course of April 2019.

This is the Headquarters of the Cashew Cotton Council housed on the 15th floor of the Caistab Building at Le Plateau, which hosted this contract signing ceremony, the parties of which were represented respectively by Adama Coulibaly, DG of the Cotton Council and Cashew, Truong Sy Ba, Head of the Vietnamese delegation and Diaby Aboubacar, President of the cashew exporters of Côte d'Ivoire.

Satisfied, the CEO of the Cotton and Cashew Council has appreciated this partnership agreement that unites national exporters. "There will be no competition, but rather solidarity between you. This partnership with the TNT Group is for us, a support to our national exporters so that they can stay on the road and stay in the cashew export market, "he said.

According to him, many local producers have suffered from the 2018 campaign, some were threatened with extinction, this contract for the campaign is therefore to bring joy to all stakeholders in this sector in Côte d'Ivoire.

In addition, he urged Ivorian actors in the cashew sector to copy the example of their Vietnamese partners. "In Vietnam, every business is a soldier for the government. It is therefore important that we can integrate this prosperity approach to preserve the achievements of this contract and to participate in the achievement of TNT's objectives with its long-term investment program, "he advised.

Moreover, what prevailed at the choice of the Ivory Coast for this partnership, is, according to the head of the Vietnamese delegation Truong Sy Ba, firstly because the Ivory Coast is the first world producer of walnuts. cashew, then the quality of the cashew is also good. And thirdly, it is the support of the State of Côte d'Ivoire to the actions of the Council of Cotton and Cashew.

After signing, we will visit the interior of the country to evaluate the sites to establish a cashew processing plant. We hope to set up a plant of 30,000 tons this year, so that eventually we will reach 100,000 tons next year. One goal will be to set up a bank of the Vietnamese group TNT.

As for Diaby Aboubacar, president of the cashew exporters of Côte d'Ivoire, this contract is for him the fruit of a long work, which finally comes to grow the sector and help him to go to the transformation that will first benefit producers through a stable market. "For us, it is a relief, a sense of success because in Côte d'Ivoire the cashew sector is largely dominated by foreigners, and this is the first time that nationals have come together to fight the same fight, "he said.
