    Oct 8th, 2017

Cameroon is a small producer of cashew nuts, which is an important economic development opportunity. Indeed, the country’s annual production is 108 tons. So, in the framework of its agricultural development plan, Cameroon intends to intensify Cashew nuts production to make it an important revenue source for the government and the producers.

“Cashew nuts’ potential for growth prompted us to elaborate a national scheme for the sector’s development”, Henri Eyebe Ayissi, the minister of agriculture said. In this regard, Cameroon, with the support of the German development cooperation, sent a delegation to Cote d’Ivoire, the West African country in which Cashew nuts is already a good source of revenue for farmers, alongside cocoa.
