    Feb 2nd, 2016

Brazil’s Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) has cut its final estimate of the country's 2015 cashew nut crop by more than 30% from the estimate it made just a month earlier.

The new figure gives a 2015 crop of 104,650 tons against the earlier expectation of 154,105 tons.

Cashew nut growers in Brazil harvested 107,713 tons of cashew nuts from 627,137 hectares in 2014. The latest forecast puts the 2015 area at 586,022 ha.
