  • Brazil lowers cashew production forecast

    Dec 8th, 2015

Brazil’s statistical agency IBGE downgraded its national cashew nut production forecast to 194,916 tonnes in its latest monthly report, down 10.41% from the previous prediction of 217,554 tonnes. The new forecast is still 80.96% more than the 108,713 tonnes that were harvested in 2014, although there is still time for new reductions of the 2015 production forecast as the IBGE releases its final 2015 harvest estimate in January 2016.
