According to the estimates of the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the export of cashew nuts in July 2018 reached 30 thousand tons, worth $ 267 million, down 7.2% in volume and 8.9% in value compared with June 2018, compared with the same period in 2017 decreased 18.1% in volume and decreased 29.5% in value. In the first seven months of 2018, cashew nut exports totaled 205,000 tonnes valued at $ 1.96 billion, up 9.4 percent in volume and 6.5 percent in value against the previous seven months of 2017.

 

The average export price of cashew nuts in July was $ 8,900 per tonne, the lowest level since December 2016, down 1.9% from June 2018, and down 13.9% over the same period. In the period from the beginning of the year to the end of July 2018, the average export price of cashew nuts was about USD 9,582 per ton, down 2.7% over the same period last year.

 

While the W320, W240 and WS / WB, W450 and DW shipments declined over the same period last year, exports of cashew nuts, LP, SP, W210 and W180 increased with growth 2 figures. W320 cashew nuts remained the highest export category, reaching 15.98 thousand tonnes, worth $ 165.43 million, down 16.8% in volume and down 27.4% in value over the same period last year. 2017. Generally, in the first 6 months of 2018, exports of most cashew nuts increased over the same period last year, except for cashew nuts. In the first six months of 2018, exports of W320 cashew nuts reached 86.9 thousand tons, worth $ 954.94 million, up 4% in volume and 2.8% in value compared with 6 months in 2017; Cashew W240 increased 26.5% in volume and 7% in value, reaching 25.6 thousand tons, worth over USD 300 million.

 

According to statistics from the International Trade Commission, the outlook for Vietnamese cashew exports to the UK market is relatively good. Vietnam is the largest source of cashew in the UK, with import growth of 44.6% in volume and 60.5% in value. The share of Vietnam in the UK has increased from 21 , 1% of total imports in the first five months of 2017, up 30.5% in the first five months of 2018.
